When I was little, the local police had baseball-style cards made for every officer and they encouraged kids to ask the officers for them and try to collect them all. When my friend and I learned this, we assumed that *every* working person would give us free things. So, we went up to a guy in a plumbing van and asked him if he had any old pipes we could have.
We were kind of stupid.
