I’ve been debating what tires to get for my 08 A4 Avant for months now and still can’t decide. I have winters on 16" wheels, so whatever tires I get for the 17" wheels don’t need to have any snow capability. I’ll be putting about 10k miles on the tires each year (5k on the winters) and it’ll be my regular commuting and long trip car.
I was originally all about getting a true set of summers, either Pirelli Zero Nero GT or Continental ExtremeContact Sports. After comparing treadwear ratings though, I’m starting to consider an ultra performance all season like the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3. I want to get the most out of the A4 since it is a bit of a fun car, but also don’t want to put a higher performing tire on it than necessary if it’ll mean new tires every two years.
What does Oppo recommend? Can an all season perform close enough to a summer tire in this scenario?
