I know nothing of Game of Thrones beyond the SNL skit depicting the show being helmed by a horny Andy Samberg. To me first, Diana Rigg was the Countess Teresa Di Vincenzo: the greatest of all Bond girls. She was so excellent in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service that I started renting every cassette (yes, cassette) of The Avengers that my Blockbuster had. When a mega-disc set of the Emma Peel seasons appeared on Amazon some years ago, I snatched it up immediately. Dame Diana: the Bond girl who was independent and fiery, and not automatically charmed, and the secret agent who was both modern and classic at the same time, bowing neither to the will of John Steed or her enemies.

Drive peacefully into the sunset, my lady...or drive however well you damn please. You always did it your way, and your audience loved you for it.
