Are Kia Owners Embarrassed of Their Badge?

Because they shouldn’t, Kia makes pretty dang good vehicles now. The Stinger looks great and the Telluride damn well might be first or second in a very competitive class.

BUT I keep seeing Kia vehicles with plastidipped or blacked out badges (like above) on everything from Optima’s to Stingers, even a Telluride last week. At least some people replace theirs with a KDM badge.

What’s with that? I just find it interesting how many I see around my city, there shouldn’t be any shame in owning a Kia nowadays.

Even my old roommate blacked out his Kia badge on his Forte, guess I never really asked why back then.
