Transfer case never got oil after a friend put his cruiser back together, it lasted about 500 miles. Everything internally is gone, all the gears are pitted and shearing, the shaft shown here that connects to the drivelines, spins independent of the gears meaning it tore apart internally.
Im guessing the bearing finally gave way, got stuck in a gear, forced the drivetrain to a halt but the wheels kept spinning which snapped the shaft away from the drive gear.

Internally the T-case is full of metal dust and shavings.
