M3 is Back!

It’s dirty so here is a picture of when I first bought it. 12 years and 4 months, 67,000ish miles ago.

The car to the right with the big dent in the fender was my best friends Hawkeye STi Limited, my favorite of the cars he has owned.

I used to have a couple of fast cars. Now I’ve got a slow car, a really slow truck, and the M3 which has been out of commission since last fall. Besides a few drives in other people’s fast cars, I haven’t seen much more than 150 horsepower.

I had forgotten how fantastic it is to drive! I’ve said before on here that I would have held out for a coupe if I was a little older and a little wiser when I bought it. However there is something so freeing about a fast car with no top. I doubt that I will ever buy another rag top (unless the there’s no coupe option), but I’m not letting go of the one I’ve got.

It also felt kind of “soft”. Probably because I have been driving the 1502 so much. It’s too early to say for sure, but the 1502 may have just edged it’s way in to being my favorite to drive. I just feel so connected in the older bimmer. If I’m wearing thin soled driving shoes or bare feet, it’s like I’m part of the car. Both cars love to be driven and I love driving them both, but the 02 gives off the vibe that it exists for no other reason.
