Made progress on the new flip project yesterday. Cannot believe how easy this little car is to work on. I can definitely appreciate some proper simple engineering as compared to the daily driver f30.

New door handle installed in 10 minutes. Also, it was a better deal to buy the full set of four door handles over just buying one. I’ve already sold the other three to a guy I met on the instagrams. Minor profit and nice to help the guy out.

Pulled the radio and installed a bluetooth/usb/aux adapter as well. I missed the window of time where this kind of adapter was probably in its prime, so this is new and, really, a cool add to me. More importantly, it adds exactly what this car needs for the next owner; connectivity.

The unit plugs in to the CD changer port on the OEM radio. This is a massive winner because I completely dislike the look of 99% of aftermarket radios out there and they don’t add value to the car.

The mic for the bluetooth is what it is. There is no way around the fact that it’s cheap. I figured this mounting position would also be problematic. Turns out, it’s not! Did a test call playing around with the fan on high and low, revving the engine and stuff. It picked up my voice at a normal volume really well.

This was an excellent use of $55 in my opinion. All buttoned up, things are looking pretty stock.

Next up: polishing the headlights, cleaning the floor mats, seafoam then a tank of premium, and an alignment. I’m keeping my eyes open for a set of good (and cheap) OEM toyota/scion wheels. Assuming that won’t happen, it’ll be on the market soon I believe.
