Reddit’s Just Rolled into the Shop is a veritable cornucopia of the many wonders and oddities of shop lyfe. You never know what’s gonna roll in. Here’s what caught my eye this week.

...1990 NA Miata, complaint that old aftermarket radio was defunc so they wanted a new one.
I finish wiring up the harness when I noticed whoever did this install ran their own accessory power wire...
it blew the fuse for the radio. Go to check the fuse and found out that a 20A fuse was put into the fuse box when it should have been a 15A.

He had a miss on 1-8 plus a random.miss, every O2 and Cat code possible, a PCM code, an EGR code and a small evap leak lol... Issa Ford

Both bleeder screws snapped off sometime ago, picture shows the side with an easy out left in it. Turns out this particular customer just bought the car, and was told by the seller it had new brakes all around, as well as a fluid flush. Some people I tell ya

The new guy put the gasket in the wrong place on the canister

[for a] Giant Tug Boat that pull container ships

The front wheel had only 2 lugnuts holding it on as well...

So I work as an engineer at a company you know and use their product everyday. There is a contractor that was hired to rearrange and make inserts for our toolboxes. We had (2) 14mm wrenches in this toolbox. Someone (who makes a lot of $$) decided that they took up too much space and replaced them with (1) 28mm wrench. So now we have 15+ toolbox inserts that are junk and have to explain to the contractor why that just won’t do.
I can not make up this level of stupid folks

What, no crossbones?

A carrier bearing failed and clearly blew apart at 70mph. Customer was able to drive it in 4x4 to the shop, I could hear it grinding as it came in.

NO just NO

The owner will be back. I guarantee it.

What’s even more funny is the customer wouldn’t let me fix it. And the lack of windows in record-breaking summer heat is the first thing I thought of. I found the driver inspection logs and the a/c has been out for months.

That’s why we do PDIs, lol

Look at all the money you saved! Look at it fly away...

Somebody’s gonna have to shell out some cash...

WHYsler

Can’t sweep this one under the rug.
