Reddit’s Just Rolled into the Shop is a veritable cornucopia of the many wonders and oddities of shop lyfe. You never know what’s gonna roll in. Here’s what caught my eye this week.

You know, I’ve got some melted butter and some tongs in here, so...

You guys like chandeliers, right?

Au naturel
Wish I’d’ve thought of that.

How to target your audience.

Knuckle is ok miraculously. Not the first time this guy was in for hitting something.

Not your typical tool left under the hood.

This guy purchased this in a different state and brought it to our shop, an independent repair facility. ...said it felt like the wheel was coming off “but i checked the lug nut torque so i don’t understand.”
When he called the bastards back they told him to go to his insurance company, we told him to get an attorney. Sorry about your wallet brother.

Safe and sound

Don’t forget to keep your spare inflated.

Subaru Forester... this pays .4 and you need the back seat out. Nooooot happening.

“My lord, is that... legal?”

That’s the pits

So close

So this carb is from a Toro Workman utility cart at one of our golf courses. What you see is the work from a “helicopter mechanic” from the army. Guy was 26 years old and didn’t know his ass from his elbow. He attempted to get the Toro running and did this. He has done many questionable things, including doing the first 50 hour oil change on a brand new $80,000 mower and filling the oil to the top and tried to start it. I took the intake hose off the turbo and oil poured out. After two years of coming in and sitting in the corner playing his Nintendo Switch, he got fired. I was constantly having to go to his golf course and fix everything for him. And he got payed the same as me right from the start. It was a toxic relationship at best.

Follow-up to this post, featured in vol. 66.

That must’ve been fun to hear.

It is as locked up as you can be.

Good news and bad news...

Oil your filter gaskets!

98' civic... I told her she had to vacuum it if she wanted us to replace the buckle, she looked at me as if she had no idea it was dirty... The pictures don’t come near depicting the amount of hair between the seats...

...freshly rebuilt head on an 87 Alfa Romeo Spider... Lack of lubrication from a plugged oil passageway may be the culprit... or this valve was not adjusted properly and there was too little clearance.
