someone put a new strut and control arm on that side and somehow didn’t notice the whole subframe rotted out

...he didn’t say what shop did the work. But he drove it in like that and wanted to drive it home. Shop manager wouldn’t allow it and it left on a flatbed.

Unfortunately the airbag light had been fooled by resistors, and the tech that inspected it didn’t notice at time of inspection so we were not able to arbitrate (return) the car to auction. We did put a new dash in, and replace / inspect all the other airbags. It was a 2017, and at that point you fix it or lose soooooooooo much money returning it to the auction...

Technicians do not expect this stuff to happen unless they have seen it before so hopefully this is a lesson to anyone who notices the vinyl on the dash looks a little off.

Used car service is a disgusting business, but I try to fight for the good of the people even if the sales department want to f***ed buy red light auction cars. Stay vigilantle in this business. The day you quit caring is when you should quit.

Always been serviced by the dealer previously as found in the service books, customer just bought it... The belt has been routed incorrectly (on-top of the flat pulley instead of underneath) and has worn a deep groove into the dipstick tube and halfway through the dipstick itself.

...Story goes he picked his car up Thursday and called Monday to say he heard a noise. Crazy thing is the turbo was never apart for the previous repairs. Pretty much they think he had it apart for god knows why and fucked up then decided to screw insurance company. And it worked for him lol they’re doing it for free

...the shocks are completely dead, the motor is bringing it all the way up and then once at the peak the trunk slams down with no resistance when it’s supposed to be held up by the shocks.

7.3. Customer did his own injector orings. Overtorqued the injector holddowns and they broke after a few miles. 1 & 5 made some impressive dents in the valve cover when they tried to go through.

Boss quoted 5 hours and was really drumming up how much of a nightmare it would be. Turns out it was only held in there by cable ties and quick splices. Slipped some heat shrink over the cut insulation and it was out the door in 15 minutes.
