Reddit’s Just Rolled into the Shop is a veritable cornucopia of the many wonders and oddities of shop lyfe. You never know what’s gonna roll in. Here’s what caught my eye this week.

There was a creeper in the trash can at work, I saw potential to do something ridiculous and over the top, purple with gold wheels just came to me, girlfriend suggested the underglow and it kindof snowballed from there...

Geo prizm... Found while doing LOF. customer declined repairs.

This is diesel bug. An algae that grows in diesel when there is water present. Jams up your entire diesel fuel system with what looks like pond scum

3.4 out of an ‘01 Chevy Venture... Intake and exhaust pushrods aren’t the same length. One of my coworkers did head gaskets and wasn’t paying attention to what came from where, started it, and bent a few. He put new pushrods in and it runs fine now.

Had a bad ignition coil causing the rough run, was struggling to achieve 35 on my test drive. After repairs it was still struggling to achieve 35. Felt like cam timing was off, I bet the timing belt was super stretched. Wouldn’t be surprised if it had a clogged cat and no compression either.

That’s the pits...

Just oil it and put it back in
Hub, studs and rotor [had to be replaced]

...it was a local body shop apparently this was their fix... but the client asked us to look at it after it failed our state inspection ... I’m dumbfounded
