
Reddit’s Just Rolled into the Shop is a veritable cornucopia of the many wonders and oddities of shop lyfe. You never know what’s gonna roll in. Here’s what caught my eye this week.

They used silicone clear caulk, white bathtub caulk, black butyl, and some gray stuff.

She overheated it so bad the oil pan was full of coolant.. radiator cracked and she just sat there in the car, smoking cigarettes until it just shut off and wouldn’t start again..

All you need is a drill, and maybe a ruler

Boy, those must be some bolts... some terrific, radiant, humble bolts. Zuckerman’s famous bolts!

Some context. This isnt my program. my friend says because it was never registered, and they got it from Nissan themselves, they have a contract that says that they cant part it out or sell it. I’m considering begging and offering a pretty penny myself to save it.

I’m going to see how the bumper ends up after putting it on a bake cycle in our paint booth. 160 degrees should help soften it up, but I’m not holding my breath for the center grill slats to straighten out.

...Besides there is a tone ring on the back that makes it hard to replace the studs.
I just sent it back along with kind of a dirty look.

The radar that controls the autonimous braking is covered behind the license plate. And the licence plate bracket was mounted upside down and in the wrong spot lol

...they’ve obviously had this issue for awhile. It was non running, coolant in the crankcase, and they’d just been adding water to the cooling system. Both head gaskets were so corroded that it had eaten a straight path for the coolant to just run into the cylinder with zero obstructions.
