Reddit’s Just Rolled into the Shop is a veritable cornucopia of the many wonders and oddities of shop lyfe. You never know what’s gonna roll in. Here’s what caught my eye this week.

The car had a lot of issues, the last thing that was done was the coil. I know that it had a knock and had a lot of electrical problems as well...
... Insurance has been investigating and Hyundai has been looking through everything at the moment for future recalls. Freak accident really, just a lot of variables that led to this point. Glad it happened at the dealership and not while the family was driving.

Also believe it or not there was no oil in her today. So he’s been getting it changed somewhere else, and they didn’t do the filter. That’s what I think happened...
The customers daughter drove the Austin Martin till “it didn’t move anymore?”
Those were two 12V truck batteries. They caught fire over the weekend.

Came to our Shop seized up but we got it running again. Drove it on the lift under it’s own power and it didn’t even sound wierd. Pulled the glow plugs and put a towel over the engine to keep what i thought to be just a little oil from flying around and cranked it over.... Maybe it was a little it more oil than I thought
Turbo is leaking oil and the engine sucked it into the cylinders...
Barely broken in, 2571 on the odometer.
[Failed inspection] but not because of the bullet holes...
Front lower control arm bushings, RO tie rod, leaking PS pump, side engine mount, drivers seat back was stuck in full recline position, and a tag light.

The outer wheel bearing was totally destroyed that is why it is able to move back and forth the way it does.
He said to his foreman today its been driving weird for the past few days. His foreman’s response: “it’s probably from the weight in the truck, it’ll be fine”. I can’t with these guys

...the owner is a single mom that bought it for her daughter I felt sorry for her situation but the car had to be scrapped
...the amount of times the lever was jammed into it just in the shop mutilated it
And they came back the next night and stole a shop loaner car even though we blocked the parking lot with the shuttle. They rammed the shuttle out of the way and totalled out loaner before driving off with it. It damaged other cars nearby as well. No keys left in the building this weekend.
