I found this abandoned rear engined Renault 10 down in Old Car City USA hiding under a pile of old damp pine needles. That’s not a very good habit since top down rot is the biggest cause of rust here in Georgia.

Anyways, my video editing skills have improved dramatically. I still haven’t got the video to post to Youtube in 1080p to reduce the compression but I’ll get that next time. I fiddled with the camera I used and discovered that it is 1080p HD capable but was set to 480 for some reason 🤦‍♂️

Music warning: all the editing went into the audio design.

What did you think? There are improvements to be made but it is much better than my last one.

I had to scrape away the thick and damp covering of pine needles just to see the car at all.

This Renault sat in a somewhat boggy area lower in elevation than the nearby lake. It was a veritable jungle that hid some of the more interesting imports. Fortunately, this one was somewhat accessible.

It is simple in form but quite pleasing to the eye. Too bad the engine bay at the rear was hidden by pine needles. That’s the most interesting angle.

I took this picture last year and it is still one of my all time favorites. Such an eerie beauty in the decay.

I wonder why the steering wheel is tied in place. Maybe it was towed on a dolly here. Also, check out the script on the horizontal speedo. Were the letters always so wavy?

I really like this simple yet elegant solution to a commuter compact. I think this would make a really fun and unique classic to keep around, provided overseas parts availability isn’t too constricted.
