Ok, so I’m lame... I didn’t go anywhere special except the local auto parts store to pick up some synthetic oil.
I’d been putting off my oil change for about 3 weeks once my dash light started blinking. Right before the 4th of July weekend, it went solid telling me “IT’S TIME, WILLY!” I would have done it last weekend, but we drove the pavement based vehicle down to Houston for my moms 80th Birthday.
SO, Saturday morning found me heading to the store for oil, then back home to pour a cold beverage and set out to change the oil.
I’m mechanically challenged, I’m the first to admit it, but I did grow up helping my dad change the oil on his VW bug and F-150 Pickup.
It went ok, just struggled with getting the oil filter off without making too much of a mess. My RCI skid plate has an access port which makes it so I don’t have to drop the skid every time.
Oh, I also replaced the air filter and cabin filter.
It was no adventure, just the satisfaction of knowing I’m keeping my rig in good working order for the next trip.
So, here’s a photo of my cold beverage of choice lately. I highly recommend fresh squeezed lime.
Sunday I washed my rig for the first time in 10 months.
This has been a “I’m bored at work on a Monday” report.
