One has only to imagine how something like this happened. I hate to cast aspersions, but either old age or completely new at towing a trailer this big in unfamiliar settings, and wow, this must have cost a crap-ton to make it right. Vacation ruined.
I happened to stick around just until the largest tow truck I have seen pulled up, followed closely by a large flat-bed behind a semi.
Cha-ching. That bill alone is likely more than I spend on entire vacations. I’m sorry...
This carnage happened at the exit to Dewey Bridge campground (near the Colorado River & Moab).
Apparently, as the turn was taken too sharply, the wheels fell off the cattle guard/grate into the ditch. The axles fell in between the grate while the unaware driver continued forward, ripping everything apart. ouch. Imagine the sound.
