Here is a review of the new Trail Weld kit. Welding on the trail is handy more often than I’d like to admit. A master welder, Land Rover driver trainer and friend of mine, Tim Scully, has come up with the kit.
He’s always taught the “Field Welding” kit at Overland Expo as well as for Land Rover’s offroad driving school and to special forces military. You can use jumper cables, but Jonathan goes into why a kit like this is a much better setup.
For those with Dual Battery setups the ability to weld with no other vehicle or battery needed is really nice and self sufficient. In fact, that’s the best reason for a second battery I can think of.
