Welcome to the best from October, on Overland and Expedition. Kinja’s corner of vehicle based explorers and adventurers. (I assume there were twice as many posts attempted than actually show, but were Kinja’d)
Trip Reports:
Starting the month off strong was mtdrift out of Africa and “Finally into the wild” making us all wish we were in a game reserve.
I mean, look at this giraffe butt action! Someone get this man a job in the Overland world would ya!?
Up next was Rufant and his final episode of “Best Western.” The photos of down under are truly epic.
You want action? Rufant is bringing it/
Next up LionZoo breaks in his new Prado GX460 in the montains of Southern California. It’s always astounding that one state can look like so many countries!
Honestly, the photography and the views in this report can’t be missed. Was this Colorado or the Alps?
Moving right along to one of my favorite reports of the month. Comedy enthused with great photog and cinematography skills the resident HHFP serves it all up from Utah. Video series and blog posts below!
This report had action. You want action?
El Capitan Captain Daytrip leads us through Texas Hill Country seeking beer. Is there a more noble cause?
I love the variety of vehicles in this one.
Variety is the name of the game with easy dirt tracks and pretty damn extreme ones all within the same trip.
Some guy named Mit pretends to be Sakajawea and takes us to some Native American ruins.
SilentButNotReallyDeadly takes us to Purnululu National Park. Say that 3 times fast! This is the final chapter of a well written and epic photog trip.
The landscape is other worldy. It reminds me of several places, but is different still than anything I’ve ever seen.
Skychismo takes us on a “Short and Sweet” trip, but it’s got it all. Fire breathing, red ryder BB gun shooting, wheel lifting good times! (no one shot their eye out!)
I start my trip report for Overland Expo East, but more to come in that regard.
Lastly, I decide it’s a good idea to self immolate on a bicycle around Arizona’s high country.
Trucks man!!
Under trucks and projects we have:
Special stage for moto!
Discussion!
From gear reviews to reminiscing the discussions were rife with ideas.
As a reminder, don’t forget to check out the comment section of the posts. Sometimes entire discussions unravel and build. Not to mention there is always extra content in there. Did you see the lion dog?? Did you?? If not, then it’s time to expand all on the comments!
Archives:
Going back to the archives we see the resident Rufant put together a random collection of stuff, but what I thought was noteworthy is that so much of it doesn’t make the normal rounds of videos and photos. It’s worth a look to see the gems within.
Thanks for coming along on the best of journey for October. It’s a lot to take in. Now, get back to work... writing something up for O&E obviously!!! Normal work can wait!
