I hate mud...did you know that? Anyway, where Im headed soon there is a high likelihood of mud impeding my travel plans. Thick, slick, clay and bentonite mud. So, the general rule of thumb would be:
1. Don’t
2. MT tires
3. Maxtrax
As for 1...no
2...also no
3, maybe.
I haven’t heard of anyone using something like this in practice but it seems logical to be that a set of semi loose heavy chains would ideal for self clearing of mud. They are $100 a pair, but thats still $100 less than 2 maxtraxs and progress would come easier than laying down a never ending sheet of tracks...if they worked. So what do you think? would they work? or aren’t they used for a reason.
