So here’s the deal: Me, Vicarious and maybe a few others are planning a spring trip at the end of may and I am having a hard time coming up with a plan I like for the destination. The trouble is that there is SOOO much to see, but we are likely going to be weather limited, as well as time limited so I ask of you that know the mountain west/southwest for your help. Here is the details
- 5 days (2 travel days 3 trail days or some combination)
- Point to point preferable
- 300-500 miles travel distance from salt lake area
- Something cool to see (naturally)
- Weather safe (as safe as it can be) for may
- Preference for something that has built in time to explore and wander a little
- Preference for BLM camping without # vehicle restrictions.
That’s about it. I would like some technical in there but I would prefer the bulk of it to be 2 track if possible.
We were talking about comb wash combined with beef basin and lockhart basin, or kokopelli again (not sure I’m ready to re-tackle that one) or four corners area or San Rafeal swell or Glen canyon area or...you see what I mean? Also, I’m open to norther AZ or Nevada. Help my O&E you’re my only hope!
Also, this is an invite to anyone that would like to join that could do a 5 day around the 20th of May. There will be AT LEAST 1 cruiser, 1 Tacoma and 1 Frontier. Likely another cruiser and maybe a 3rd gen 4runner so it should be a good group.
