Serious advice needed

So without dragging it out, the Cruiser is dying. Bleeding internally. To be honest I don’t know how bad since the radiator is also bad and due to be replaced this week. The moral of the story is that its going to be harder and harder to trust the truck in the boonies without a major cash injection. Yes, there is a LOT going for the truck, but its starting to get “listy” as in the list of things to do gets longer and longer.

So Im at a crossroads, what to do? Well one option is another 80, but the cash to get a low mile one is making it difficult. Not impossible but difficult. Case in point I went to see one tonight I really liked

97 155k miles. rebuilt axles with ARB 4.56 wired to run off the factory switch. 2.5 ome lift etc etc. front and rear bumpers with winch and swings. Basically a lot of the things I would like to do to mine. The catch? 17 grand. its a nice truck but its far from clean, the seats are trashed and the paint it about a 4 of 10. No rust though and everything is here.

I honestly don’t know what I could get from a 300k truck with a potential head job on the horizon but I figure i would be about about 9-10 grand to step up. The great news is that the builder is a well known cruiser legend with a lot of skill. The work would all be considered professional including all the electrical. The owner tells me the goal was minimal maintenance turn key...which is kinda where Im at right now with my needs. The bad news is that it will still need a head job in 50-100k miles. It solves a lot of the troubles of my cruiser and makes a big leap up in a lot of the mods. it really only needs a few things to be dialed in to my liking. I didn’t get to drive it tonight and I haven’t seen it in the light.

I don’t love that its not factory e-lockers but the ARB are fine and they work just like the factory ones. I don’t like the color or condition of the paint but the miles and mods are all right.

I have a few days to decide on it before it gets snapped up. Thoughts?

The way I figure it to get what I want is going to cost 15-20 no matter which direction I go. Either fix up the gx and replace my wifes car, or getting a 100 series or something similar. I have the cash to do this now but it pains me to even think of selling the cruiser.
