This coming weekend I’ll be attending the California Rally School in Ridgecrest on Saturday and then participating in the Ridgecrest Rallycross on Sunday. Ridgecrest is close to Trona Pinnacles, which is on my list of places to visit.
Well due to the schedule, the only opportunities I have to hit the trails are very late Friday night and/or Saturday night after the school. I’ll have to do the trails in the dark, but I suppose I can wildcamp. Trona Pinnacles is relatively close to Ridgecrest, so getting back to the rallycross grounds in the morning isn’t a problem, but is it worth it just to go in the dark? It seems a little crazy. Not to mention I might want better rest in a motel / hotel after a day of driving school. However, the adventure...
