Overlanding and CosPlay

I know this blog post is an April Fool’s post, but I also don’t disagree with it.

I would argue anytime we do something for fun (i.e. play) where we dress ourselves or our vehicles for the part (i.e. costume) we are cosplaying.

99% of us don’t NEED an overland rig, we do it for fun. So we go play off road and dress our vehicles for the part. And just like comicon cosplaying, some costumes are more functional than others, like comparing a custom built rigs with swapped axles and gearing and a full custom suspension to a pickup with a block lift and flashy big wheels.

The blog post may have been made in jest, but it certainly isn’t wrong.
