Oz based round up.

Sorry.

Ford Ranger takes it to the previously unbeatable Toyota Hilux in the 4x4 sales charts.

Interestingly, neither the Bronco Everest or Fortuner wagon version of these utes are selling well. Neither is the mechanically identical (to the Ranger) and cheaper Mazda BT50, although it doesn’t look macho and Mazda has done absolutely ZERO to market it, whereas Ford are on a march with marketing. Just seems everyone wants a tough and good looking pick up, whether they need one or not.

Shame. I like the look of the Everest, it does a lot of what I need. I would just be scared of scratching it.

Land Cruisers still smashing it in the ‘real’ 4x4 stakes, just quietly.

Want to see how the US domestic trucks stack up in the Oz market? Compared to the ‘overpriced’ LC200. Well the F Truck and the Silverado are a chunk more than the 200 by the time they are on the road here.

This article is written by Robert Pepper, so it stands a chance of not being junk.

Here is another option from the traditional 4x4. An Iveco (FIAT) 4x4 truck. Gaining some traction (boom!) in the commercial market, now they are targeting the recreational market.

The GVM specs on the one you can drive on a car licence don’t seem far removed from my 105 series, so I’m not sure I’ll be making the leap anytime soon, and my Cruiser comes with, y’know, a body...

Tickford. A name I associate with Aston Martins and Ford Capri’s is what Ford is badging the latest official aftermarket goodies for the Bronco Ranger. Mostly fluff, although 560NM (400 odd ftlbs) of torque could have it’s place.

I’m sure many have caught it, but Ronny’s new trip series is another treat of visual wonder.
