Made in China

Sold in Australia. This should go nicely with HHFP’s repower article because it runs much the same motor. 2.8 litre Euro-5 compliant turbo diesel creating 110 kW and 360 Nm. The latter is at a relatively high (to me) 1600 to 2800 rpm so take-offs wont be rapid. 8.8 litres per 100 km combined in the manual guise

The Luxe version has derated rear springs as well so it won’t be as bumpy around town. But it carries less (875 kg for the manual) compared to the Pro (1025 kg in the manual).

This thing is also larger than both the Hilux and the Ranger...

A good result in ANCAP testing will be key to its future. After that there is only the question of whether it can overland....
