May 20th, 2018 Bridgeport, Texas
I received a phone call from a friend letting me know that he was going to be in town for a Jeep and Truck expo in Dallas the following weekend. I suggested that I kidnap him from the show Sunday and take him out on some local trails with our Soft Roaders gang.
We received a few morning thunderstorms so half of the people planning on attending dropped out. It was a good decision for them because Bridgeport gets a little messy after it rains.
It wouldn’t be a Soft Roaders Meet if we didn’t meet up at Bucee’s.
We arrived together with a local Toyota group so it looked like a huge group run. But we split up so that we didn’t cause too much traffic on the trails.
Once we got our group together we were on the trails. The following video contains the highlights of what we did that morning:
In spite of all the mud we had a good trail day. We lost some people right before lunch because we had to split up and retrieve a few from our group that didn’t want to attempt the muddy off-camber trail section where the 4Runner was stuck in.
We also ended up losing a valve stem on one of the 4Runners during our convoy to pick up the rest of our group.
Our friends from out of town had a great time. Thanks for joining us Todd and Takita-san!
I’ll keep this trip report short and sweet. Here’s a picture gallery of everyone in attendance:
I do realize this isn’t exactly an Overland trip, but I do like to show off the Overland people that we have in our group. Thanks for reading!
