If I understand the FB recall right; if the vehicle exhibited high oil consumption before the end of the warranty period; then it’s covered by the extended warranty. If the vehicle didn’t show symptoms until after the original warranty, you are hosed.

Ergo, his best bet is to find a car that’s had its rings corrected and has an extended warranty; correct? And any Subaru dealer should be able to tell him if a car has been fixed by vin?
