I have been wanting to replace my turbo beetle with something that offers 2 of 3 of the following:

Roof rack compatibility

Automatic

Rear doors

My wife seems none to fond of me having two manual 2 door cars and the beetle lacking any good roof rack options means it doesn’t get called upon for longer trips.

So I’ve been just keeping an eye out for interesting candidates to go test drive. There is a 2011 135i near me. If you’re not familiar; the later 135i had the 7 speed DCT, and more reliable N55 engine. However, the one near me that I’m interested in I just found out has summer tires on it:

I honestly would want to take my kid down to check it out but right now there is a thin layer of ice covering the area and we are due for 6 or more inches of snow this week. Soooo... Maybe I’ll go test drive it in April.
