Back to the Future relies on the unreliability of the DeLorean

Doc Brown’s flux capacitor and other electronics are rock solid for something so new, unique and experimental. The movie takes place in 1985 2 years after DeLorean finished production in 1983 and yet some of the main plot points stem from the DeLorean being a huge pile of shiny junk. I just watched a clip on Youtube and it is when (spoiler alert :) ) Marty goes back in time and has to hid the car behind the billboard because it won’t start that he goes to 1955 Doc to get it fixed and has to convince him to get involved.

Later in the movie, just as Marty is getting ready to accelerate and go back to the future it won’t start. This time it isn’t the starter since you can hear it crank but nothing a headbutt to the steering wheel won’t fix.

I chose the header image because it looked neat. It is a model that the photographer added some effects.

Also, kudos to Doc Brown for sticking with his dream. He worked on the flux capacitor for 30 years before he had a usable car. Prequel? Doc Brown the younger years?
