I wasn’t watching the weather, so I wasn’t expecting to see snow this morning. Naturally, I had to go for a drive. The Crosstrek feels capable, but is ultimately held back by the fairly awful Yokohama Geolandar G91 OEM no-season tires. A good set of tires, even decent all-seasons, would be an improvement. The Geolandars definitely lack grip. The AWD system is able to handle the lack of grip fairly well for starting, even starting from a complete stop on a steep hill. Stopping is another matter.
