Kentucky Adventure Tour

I wanted to share some photos from my most recent wheeling/overland trip. I was invited by some folks from the Northeast Mitsubishi Montero club to head down south (I’m in New Hampshire) to run part of the Kentucky Adventure Tour trail/route (http://annessky.net/kat/) which is a 900+ mile primarily off-pavement route around Kentucky. I’d never been to this area of the country before so my girlfriend and I loaded up our gear and doggo to make the trip. It took us ~20 hours of straight driving to make it there on account of meeting up with some people and some tail light fuse issues I kept having, but it was worth it.

Myself and one other had non-mitsubishi products, but since it’s not a jeep club everyone was real friendly and didn’t care! The trails and countryside ended up being really great, some spots were pretty technical due to erosion but nobody had any major problems.

I think the highlight for us was this big water crossing that was probably higher than usual due to heavy rains the last few weeks. Not the deepest water i’ve been through but still nerve wracking.

The final night we stayed at a RV park in a small town, and woke up to some snow which I did not expect.

I’d highly recommend the KAT to anyone in the area, or willing to make the trip. Awesome trails and beautiful dirt roads!

Bonus camp doggo not enjoying the process of being removed from the rooftop tent.
