Wife and I are looking to road trip from NY down to Savannah, Charleston, Hilton Head, etc in February. My plan is to burn down 95, stay in Savannah for two nights (first night just to crash from all day driving), then slowly head back north for a couple days staying a night here and there. My wife flew into Charleston once for less than 24 hours (for a bachelorette party), but besides that neither of us have been down that way. I wouldn’t mind checking out the Outer Banks, NC on the way back up, if time allows. Haven’t been there in a couple years. Taking my truck, so 4wd is available for beach access and any cool, scenic stuff nearby. A look on google maps shows there are some dirt access roads around some spots along the GA/SC border.
Plan is to just go day by day, eat and drink and tour around and take pictures. Any thoughts/recommendations/etc appreciated!
