I bought these off eBay a few years back (long enough ago the listing is no longer available). When I got them in, I realized they wouldn’t work for my application so they went into storage. Five years later I am looking at them again and... I have no idea what I’m looking at.
The set came with four knobs, two with long shanks and two with short. All four have what appears to be the hardware to interface with a latch built in. I was trying to see if I could disassembly one to make a complete doorknob set, but to no avail.
What I do know is they’re brass, have no makers mark, and came with deco faceplates (not pictured). The only text on them I can find is the “TURN BRASS PLATE” shown. Turning it seems to expose two holes in the back and unlock the little slot at the bottom. I have been unable to do anything with said slot.
The plate says “SCHLAGE” so presumably it is a Schlage knob.
No hoes on the outside of the knob/shaft anywhere. Depressing the pin on the steel shaft doesn’t do anything (presumably this was the release for the other knob?)
Help me out Oppo. I have no idea what I am looking at here and my google fu is weak. I’ve already resigned myself to not using them, but now I’m just curious.
