Mrs. IM took me out for a date last night. We liked it. I am so sick of superhero movies that I can’t stand it. They had a trailer for Captain Marvel and I was repelled by it. I feel like I am going to see the next Avengers movie out of obligation, not excitement. I am done with CGI action sequences (they look stupid) and the whole idea that we are supposed to take comic books seriously as literature is annoying. I realize there are exceptions, but most of it is pulp crap full of simple recycled concepts.
So I am probably a good target for a movie and trilogy like this. I liked it - and I especially liked that it had a self contained and complete ending that was not setting up a new character.
And no end credits scene, thank God.
