My wife’s family lives in the Bay Area, and they are classic Bay Area liberals who take strong stands on social and economic issues that will never touch them.
Last night, her younger sister sent my video of her with the kids at a protest in support of Oakland’s public school teachers’ strike. The kids were adorable, chanting “Oakland is a union town!” Aww.....
Of course, these kids attend expensive, non-union, private schools. Mom works as an executive in a SF high rose, and dad owns his own business. Workers of the world, unite!
I started chanting “Oakland is a union town! But not for our kids! Oakland is a union town! Send your kids to private schools!”
The air is a little chilly in here this morning.
