Farting Around on Sunday Morning....and you are in BIG trouble PeterBlack - I hate you now ;)

So I had a terrible week. It started in the hospital, and concluded with some really awful business news. Unlike my normal transparent self, I don’t really want to post about the details of that news. It is too unpleasant and stressful, so I apologize from deviating from my normal openness on Oppo. I am posting this on my new toy, a Microsoft Surface tablet.

I have had a number of iPads, and the most recent one suffered a broken screen that I have not bothered to get fixed (although I probably should fix it). I decided I wanted something smaller than a laptop for mobile access, particularly to our document management system at the office (we are paperless, and scan everything so I can get access to any file materials anywhere that I can access the system). In particular, I find myself falling behind on email because I have the phone email app that I have, and it is really too small for significant typing. But I also find myself not wanting to haul out my Lenovo laptop, which is a device I find annoying and cumbersome.

I contract with a great local company for IT services, and my office manager (who is an amazing person an employee) spoke to them about my dilemma. They ordered this Surface, and set it up for me. I have been playing with it for the last couple of days, and I really like it so far. I think I need to get a Verizon hot spot antenna for mobile data, but other than that it seems to work really great. I also have a compulsion for stickers.

One of the things I find myself doing as I play with it is looking at motorcycles. This is Peter’s fault, because he keeps giving me ideas. This is definitely Canada’s fault. As much as I love my little Ninja, I am really thinking about upgrading for a little more power by getting rid of the Ninja and buying something else. I don’t do many long trips, and mainly ride locally and in the foothills. I need some comfort, because I am often on the bike for 3 hours or so at a time wandering in the mountains, but I am starting to think about more power, adjustable suspension, and that sort of thing. I don’t want anything too big, and I think I want to stay on the sportier side of the spectrum. I am happy to take Oppo suggestions on this. Your fault, Peter. I am blaming you.
