Lego Lab, the platform where Lego tests out new ideas and gathers feedback for potential future products, has unveiled a new Lego Mindstorms Porsche set. It’s sort of a “concept set” right now, but if you live in the UK you can enter a competition to receive one of five of these to test it out and provide feedback. The deadline is today, though, so if you live in the UK and want one, I’d enter soon.

Lego says the Mindstorms Porsche features

  • Advanced Computing visor sensor providing full autonomous driving
  • WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity
  • Ultra-sonic sensor to detect objects and measure distance
  • LEGO smart hub with 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyro sensor
  • Programmable LED headlights
  • 7.3v Lithium ion battery USB charging port

This is not something I ever expected Lego to make, but it’s definitely interesting. Information about pricing and availability (other than just the fact that five random people will get one) is currently unavailable because Lego is still experimenting with this idea. But I’m hoping they do give it a more widespread release, because this looks interesting! What do you think?
