CB’s rental woes reminded me of a story that I was told at my local track. Our group bought a second hand Indy-car truck we call “Dayglow” and a few of our group went down to the USA to bring it to Canada.
Upon arriving at the border, they went into do the import paperwork and the vehicle was inspected. Minutes turned to hours with our members waiting in the CBSA (Canadian Border Services).
Several border guards come in and inform the group they were being investigated for importing a prohibited firearm. Turns out, the border guards found a loaded .38 pistol(prohibited in Canada) under the seat.
The group frantically calls the seller who confirms that the gun is his and it must have fallen out of his waistband or something like that. The border guards confiscate it, and let our guys continue into Canada.
