Little Newport Photoshoot

Went and took some pictures at an abandoned house yesterday with the Newport and it ended up being pretty creepy.

Copied from my Facebook page:

So about a month ago I was at a birthday party and drove by this place. I love classic architecture and knew I had to get the Newport (very gingerly) up the (very rough) driveway. My friend assured me no one would be around to care.

I pull into the driveway and there’s a man and his dog probably a hundred feet away looking up at the house, and neither reacted to my not very quiet Newport pulling in. I leave it running and get out and walk up the them. When I’m about 10 feet away from my car the guy turns around but between the mask and the car running next to me I knew he couldn’t hear me so I just kinda waved. It seemed like he was looking through me until my hand went up and he kinda recoiled like he was surprised that I was real.

I asked if he would mind if I drove my car up for a couple pictures. 10 minutes tops, if it would get up the driveway. After a little pause he shrugs and goes “I guess”.

I walk back to the car, tickled that I was gonna get to get these pictures. As I drive by them on the way up the guy says “That’s a nice old piece of Detroit iron” to which I replied “thank you” and then we just kinda looked at each other and then I said “oooookay well I’m gonna head up” and continued on my way up. I only took two photos up there before coming back down to take the picture of the car with the house in the background where I definitely would’ve seen them if they had kept walking up like they were when I left.

So between the looking through me, weird gaps in conversation and him suddenly going poof, I’m pretty sure I met a ghost. And a ghost dog.
