I came across this while watching videos with my 5 year old last night. The late Dan Wheldon’s son races karts, is apparently quite good, and it appears that he’s now sponsored by Hot Wheels. I’m very sad for him that his dad is not around, but happy that he’s having success chasing after something he loves doing. I know this is a show for kids, but it struck me somehow that there’s no mention in this that his dad died racing... Clearly, that’s terribly sad, doesn’t fit the script, and it’s hard to understand how racing families continue in the sport after such great tragedy, but it still felt like Dan’s death deserved more of a reference than that he was a great race car driver.
