TL;DW. So you dig two holes right next to each other, one a little smaller than the other. Then you dig out the bottom of the wall separating the two. Put your wood in the bigger hole and light it. The walls direct more of the heat up, for cooking, and the smaller vent hole draws air and feeds it through the bottom. So it burns hotter and directs the heat more upward than a traditional fire.
