There is absolutely no reason to own a radar detector other than to try to defeat speed traps. Having one basically broadcasts to the world that you’re a shitdick who intentionally drives at unsafe speeds and the presence of one in your car should be enough evidence for a speeding ticket on the spot.
It’s funny though, the types of authority-hating jerks who own radar detectors are always the first to slap Thin Blue Line stickers on their car when minorities start getting gunned down.
