Google (or Other) Maps: Avoiding Dirt Roads

My neanderthal process of finding a good driving road goes like this:

  1. Pull up Google Maps and pan around until I see a squiggly road.
  2. Zoom in closer and discover that the road is dirt/gravel.
  3. Get frustrated that I’m only finding dirt/gravel roads and give up.

It would be great if there was a way in Google Maps (or any other platform) to filter out dirt/gravel roads?
