A friend recently bought a 2005 Subaru Outback 3.0R. It’s faster than my Legacy 2.5i, the more modern 5 speed auto shifts much, much better than my old 4 speed, it sounds better, is more comfortable, rides nicer, and gets the same fuel economy. One day my car is going to need the head gaskets replaced, so the engine will have to come out. I don’t know if that will come first, or if the transmission will shit the bed first, but both things are likely, if not guaranteed. If possible, I’d much rather find a crashed Outback of the same generation with the H6, and have an EZ30 and 5 speed auto, instead of doing the head gaskets on my 2.5.
I’d also like the nicer ride of the Outback, and the ground clearance, and the comfier seats, and the sunroof......honestly the only thing I don’t like about the Outback over my Legacy is the body cladding.
