I sat and admired this Viper for an hour before it was driven off by the owner. Couldn’t keep my eyes off it, it was perfect. First gen. with the three spokes, the deep green paint color was subtle, classy, and harks back to British Racing Green on an AC Ace. The gold hood emblem was icing on the cake.

When I got home I did some poking around and learned they’re rare but not stupid-rare:

1992 there was 1 out of 285

1994 there was 133 out of 3083

1995 there was 307 out of 1577

My looking has brought me a question though. It may not be clear in my potato pic but it was just like a regular emblem but where chrome would normally be it was gold. In the flesh there no mistaking this for anything but gold.

I’ve only found two pics of gold emblems and they’re not on cars. And even then, I’m not even sure if it’s actually gold or if it’s reflection.

Why can’t I find one on a car? Was it an option? Was this a ‘92? :-)x Any help is appreciated. BRG AC Ace for your time.
