On this day 4 years ago...

The NES Classic was to hit shelves and come hell or high water I was going to get one. Even weeks before the date arrived I had a sense of guilt. Should I be shopping for a toy on Remembrance Day? In the end I justified it by telling myself I’d be home before the day actually started.

A friend and I came up with a game plan. In the wee hours of the morning we would each scout a couple of Best Buys for line length, coordinate, and meet at our best option.

I got my NES that day and on the way home at 11 am I pulled the car over for a moment of silence. These 3 events will always be tied together for me. When I look at my retro NES it’s not nostalgia I feel, but it’s memories of this day.

Hmm, what Leonard Cohen song should I add at the bottom? Seems fitting...
