Met with the surgeon this morning and the news is pretty encouraging. The tumor was about 6.5cm, a bit bigger than expected, but it’s out. The cancer didn’t spread to the lymph nodes, which is great. I’m listed as Stage 2 since there still may be some cancer cells in the abdominal cavity, and I’ll meet with an oncologist in a little while to see if they want to do any chemo.
There were two things I did today that I have missed. First was driving; mom’s a fine driver but unfamiliar with the area and hadn’t driven a stick in years, so there were some stalls. Second was eating normal food. We went to my favorite pizza joint for a good, but surprisingly salty, meal.
All in all, a good day.
