Not bad for a family truckster

Numbers from our two week trip to Colorado from Houston. I didn’t reset this trip odometer until we were about 40 or 50 miles into the trip, but pretty close. This is with a full load (wife and 4 kids), full back (to the ceiling) and four bikes on a hitch rack for there and back.

Overall not too bad. It was fun looking at the “Last 50 miles” mpg numbers coming out of Colorado - it was up in the 40s for a while! Gravity FTW!

Needs some serious svending this week, inside and out.

This was really our first road trip, we usually fly anyplace more than 4 hours. If this keeps up I will probably try to trade this out for a 4WD version of the same thing (2015 Suburban LTZ). There were a couple of places we didn’t go and might have if I had 4WD, nothing serious just traction limited. Overall the Suburban is a great road trip vehicle.
