I'm a man, a man with a half-assed plan

So, I have a Mustang. It’s pretty much sat in this spot since I brought it home a few weeks ago. Reason #1 is that the brakes are kaput, there’s a leak at the master cylinder that could be the master, the brake lines, a loose connection, etc, but whatever the cause, I don’t care. I’m replacing 100% of the brake system anyway.

My brakes are picked out, I’m going with a manual Kelsey-Hayes disc brake setup up front, and simply refreshing the existing drum set up in the rear with new parts. I’m going to replace all of the hard lines front/rear as well. I am still not settled on wheels/tires/suspension yet. I need to get that figured out, because it really is a “do everything at once” situation, especially for the front end. Suffice it to say, shocks, springs, control arms are all getting replaced.

I’m trying to be creative with financing for the project. I had a few old diecast cars in a box in the basement. I sold 4 of them this week on ebay and managed to source enough money from them to pay for the entire brake system work. Those were the expensive ones that I had, I have another 10-15 that are significantly less expensive, but should still yield another $500 or so for the car fund. My wife has also graciously donated money from kid clothes, toys, etc that she’s sold to neighbors.

The overall plan for the car is still comfy cruiser, for the most part. I really need to protect the budget from scope creep, as it is easy to exponentially increase the cost when looking at shiny new suspension bits.
