At my the family dinner my grandmother asked me “Your car is stick, right?” shocking with her dimetia she remembered that. To that I replied yup. Then she asked if she could sit in it & go through the gears. She has no driven for a few years due to age & memory issues.
She was due hard manual till the day she quit driving. Of course she could go through the gears in it. So I walked her to my car. She sat in the passenger side as I held the clutch in & she went through the gears. Her face lit up with the biggest smile. That’s all she wanted to do, even when I offered to take her for a drive & she could change the gears. She just wanted to sit in it & change the gears. Cherish your old folks people.
